Best Time to Visit Munnar

Munnar in Winter (August to March) : Munnar has emerged as a favourite destination in all season. However, winters are considered the best time for a trip to Munnar. The temperature goes down to almost 11°C during this period. Moreover, winter is ideal for trekking, rock climbing and rappelling here.

Munnar in Summer (April to May) : Summers are the time when people flock to this place to escape the heat of the hills. The temperature in April reaches to a maximum of 25 degrees and in May it slightly rises to a maximum of 35 degrees and the minimum being at 22 degrees.

Munnar in Monsoon (June to July) : Monsoon season is the time when less number of tourist visit this place. How to Reach Munnar

By Flight : If you are planning to travel by flight then Munnar does not have an airport. The airports near Munnar include Kochi, Coimbatore, MadhuraI and Calicut. You can take a taxi and travel to Munnar by road from these places.

By Train : Munnar does not have a railway station. The nearest railway station is 90kms away in Aluva which is a major town close to Munnar.

By Road : In case you love road trips and want to plan a road trip to Munnar then direct buses are available.  Major towns in Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu are connected by road to Munnar.

  • TATA Tea Museum

Tata Tea Museum is located at the Nallathanni estate. It is one of the best places to visit in Munnar. It is known to have photographs that traces the growth and evolution of tea plantations in Munnar right from the tea sapling to an automated tea factory where it is processed. The fee to the Tata tea museum is Rs. 75 per person along with which you can also enjoy a fresh cup of tea.

  • Blossom Park

Blossom Park is also known as the Hydelpark and is situated near the Pallivasal hydro-electric project. This place caters to your sports whim and you can enjoy activities like Cycling, boating and roller skating. This is an ideal picnic spot for families who are looking for holidays.

  • PothameduViewPoint

  • Attukal Waterfalls
